Freeport, Texas is a popular waterside destination, but for those who do not want to limit themselves to just one spot, there are other fishing cities near Freeport. One city, popularized by songwriter Jimmy Webb, is Galveston. Another lovely place is nearby Surfside Beach.

Galveston

Most Texas-bound tourists flock to Galveston's 32 miles of spectacular beaches. There is an incredible marine diversity in Galveston; by some counts, 100 species of fish populate the area.
